Dumph Tor - A Brave Zenith Adventure

TAKE DOWN THE TOR

Dumph Tor is a standalone expansion and setting for Brave Zenith. Many of the included elements are inspired by JRPGs, but the setting itself is all about having a nice heaping helping of satire to combat these trying times.

The crew set to take on the challenge of Dumph Tor are the sort of folks who like to right wrongs and undo the unjust. An adventure about returning stolen money and holding grifters, con-artists, and other parasitic types accountable for how they victimize people through manipulation.

NEW ORIGINS

In the spirit of many JRPGs it's always a great idea to play as someone fuzzy, or clunky:

• Puglins are cross between a Pug and a Goblin, ready to take on the world.
• Slither find a niche between being calculating and diplomacy wherever they go.
• Dustbunny folk are timid and secretive, possibly made from the mist itself.
• Automata are the remnants of tech from the world before, still finding their feet in the world of meat-bodies.

NEW VOCATIONS

Likewise, the new vocations are also taken from the history of JRPGs:

• Merchant vocations are great at buying, selling, and striking deals.
• Gadgeteer, the expert of long forgotten technology, striking out to fix the derelict and help where it is needed.
• Mage-Mashers hunt rogue mages who cause trouble by stealing their spells and using them against them.
• Gourmands are the greatest chefs and foragers in the world, specializing in finding the rarest foodstuffs around.

THE ADVENTURE

A rotten orange ogre named Dumph has been selling a patented invention for draining the coastal mangrove swamps to the dancing stilt villages on the coast of the Mangual. Predictably this fraud, who calls himself the 8th Prince of Commerce, has been selling faulty equipment that breaks within a few weeks, flooding newly planted crops. Not only does he refuse to repair the damages, but he won't even give back what the villages paid for their troubles. If you take up the challenge, you can stop this ongoing exploitation of the kindly folks from Mangual.

What's all this then?

Dumph Tor is an adventure in the Mangual region of the Archipelago in Brave Zenith. A nice starter adventure helps to flesh out some of the Mangual. The illustrated and fully colored booklet contains:

• 4 new origins (Puglin, Slither, Dustbunny, Automata)
• 4 new vocations (Merchant, Gadgeteer, Mage-Masher, Gourmand)
• 3 new backgrounds ( Nomad, Untouchable, Healer)
